Computer Teachers
Go UseTech is looking for qualified and dedicated Computer Teachers to join our team and help us deliver high-quality ICT education to our beneficiaries. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work with refugees and the local community, imparting essential computer skills that will enable them to thrive in the digital world.
Position Title: Computer Teacher
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Go UseTech Training Centre, Kyangwali Refugee Settlement
Employment Type: Contract (3 Months)
Application Deadline: 3rd October 2024
Preferred Start Date: As soon as possible
Languages Required: Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda, and English
Target Group: Refugees, women, and girls are strongly encouraged to apply.
Background
Go UseTech is dedicated to improving the economic status of women, youth, and other marginalized groups through ICT training and digital skills development. We aim to bridge the digital divide by providing practical ICT knowledge that supports entrepreneurship and employment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct computer lessons on Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet usage, and digital marketing.
Design training materials and create lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
Evaluate students’ performance and provide constructive feedback.
Facilitate learning for all levels of computer literacy, from beginners to advanced users.
Support students in using software for graphics design, video editing, and other digital skills.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environment.
Report to the program manager and attend all required meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any relevant field.
Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in Kiswahili and Kinyarwanda.
Previous teaching experience in computer training or ICT skilling is highly preferred.
Experience working in refugee settings or with marginalized communities is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to design and implement computer training curriculum.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a challenging environment.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and best practices in ICT education.
Experience in using e-learning platforms and digital teaching tools.
Flexibility and ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
